It doesn’t matter if you are part of our nursery or joining us after a hard day’s work from Bosbury Primary School, you will always receive a smile and a warm welcome from our lovely grown-ups. We really do understand that play is important for all children, no matter what their stage of development. After all, as grown-ups, we like to play too!

JITBX TERM DATES 2021-22
*** IMPORTANT: HOT WEATHER UPDATE (17/07/22) ***
Whew, it's been a warm weekend! We hope our lovely JITBX families have had fun and most importantly stayed safe in the sizzling weather!
As you are no doubt aware, an amber weather warning has been issued for our area and we are expecting extremely high temperatures on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Although this is an evolving situation, JITBX plans to remain OPEN as we are in the fortunate position of having an air conditioning unit in Leadon Lodge wich enables us to keep this building wonderfully cool. We have also put a portable unit into Crib Cottage; should this not be effective then the Crib Cottage children will be invited to join Leadon Lodge.
The curtains, doors and windows in both buildings will be kept shut to enable the air conditioning units to operate effectively and the children will not be playing outside, unless Georgia considers it cool enough to access the shade in the woods at Leadon Lodge - this will be risk assessed on the day.
The children will be kept well hydrated, will avoid vigorous physical activity and we would encourage you to send them in wearing loose, light coloured clothing and a sun hat. Please could you also ensure that you send them in with sunscreen applied before they arrive. Sun cream of at least Factor 50 strength such as that pictured on the left is highly recommended.
If you are concerned about the amber level warning, then you are of course, welcome to keep your child at home. We would appreciate an email sent to jitbxleadonlodge@btinternet.com if you plan for your child to be absent on Monday and/or Tuesday.
We also understand that our neighbour Bosbury Primary School is planning to remain open with precautions put in place to keep the school children cool during the day. Looking at previous temperature patterns, 3:00-4:00pm appears to be the warmest part of the day, so therefore our after school Tea Club will not be able to play outside after school. We have therefore made the decision to move Tea Club to the Parish Hall on Monday and Tuesday, where there is more space and the children can be kept cooler with the curtains and blinds drawn. The children will of course be kept well hydrated and will avoid vigorous physical activity.
Again, you are welcome to keep your child at home rather than send them to either Breakfast Club or Tea Club, but an email to the above address would again be hugely appreciated to help us keep track of pupil numbers and absences.
Many thanks - enjoy this rare bout of unusually hot weather but please, remember to limit your exposure to the sun during peak hours and stay safe.
